A great leader
Martin Luther King Jr.'s strategies for acquiring social change were brought upon from the passive strategies of Mohandas Karamachand Gandhi, who used forms of civil disobedience (non-violent) in order to bring social change to India. King was the most prominent leader in the pursuit to enlist African American voters in Atlanta, Georgia and events such as the march on Washington D.C. in 1963, which brought over a quarter million participants (both white and black). During the in the capital, King delivered his most famous speech, famously known as the "I Have a Dream" speech, in the front of the Abraham Lincoln Memorial on August 28, 1963. The speech was not only expressed towards African American's rights, but towards the rights of all the people of America.
